Class Etiquette
Aug 3rd, 2009 by Karen Kow
1. Arrive early.
Arriving late is disruptive to the class and damaging to you and your practice, as the early warm ups and breathing exercises are essential to performing the postures safely.
2. No meals right before class.
Allow 60-90 minutes after a light meal and three hours after a heavy meal before attending any class.
3. Turn off or silence your mobile phone.
Mobile phones ringing in the middle of class will disrupt the flow of the class and interrupt the experience of yoga. Be considerate to everyone.
4. Wear appropriate attire.
Wear comfortable clothings which allow a flexible range of movement. Clothings should be modest and should not come out of place during the practice of asanas.
5. Bring your own mat, face towel and bottle of water.
For hygiene purposes. If you do not have your own mat, please notify us in advance so we can prepare one for you.
6. Savasana is compulsory.
Do not leave before or during the final relaxation.
7. Be open to what the practice brings.
Remember there’s more to yoga than funky poses. Do not push yourself beyond your ability, practice body awareness and enjoy the experience of yoga.
